ABOUT BILL-EE

We are an enthusiastic team of undergraduate STEM students from Cal Poly Pomona, with a fascination for space robotics and rover engineering. Our team includes individuals from various disciplines, while the majority are Electrical, Aerospace, and Mechanical Engineering.

We're proud to be part of Bronco Space, Cal Poly Pomona's renowned Space Exploration Club. This collaboration enriches our experience, as we receive guidance and insights from esteemed faculty members in the Engineering field. Together, we're not just exploring possibilities; we're paving new paths in space exploration and technology.

Our Goal

At BILL-EE, our mission is to guide STEM students through the often-overlooked complexities of initiating and advancing engineering projects across various fields like Biology, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering. We provide comprehensive guidance on a wide range of engineering concepts, from fundamental aspects such as understanding motor curves and choosing the right motor to more advanced topics like structural analysis and software algorithm optimization.

Our goal is to demystify the 'hidden iceberg' of engineering challenges, offering students the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in their STEM endeavors.

URC Competition

The University Rover Challenge (URC) is a globally recognized competition held annually at the Mars Society Research Center, where the top 36 teams from various countries compete with their rovers. The competition is designed to simulate the challenging environment of Mars.

  • Science Mission: Testing the rover's ability to perform geological and biological experiments.
  • Extreme Delivery: Assessing the rover's navigation and payload delivery in rough terrains.
  • Equipment Servicing: Evaluating the rover's precision in manipulating and servicing equipment.
  • Autonomous Navigation: Focusing on the rover's ability to navigate autonomously with no human intervention.

Bio-Weapon Detecting Rover

The process involves using advanced AI technology to direct a rover to areas heavily contaminated with dangerous viruses and bacteria. The rover, equipped with specialized sensors, collects aerosol samples from these high-risk zones. These samples are then analyzed on-site using a multiplex immunoassay, a technique capable of detecting a wide range of potential biohazards and pathogens simultaneously.
